York Train Meet
Sponsoring the world's greatest train meet in York, PA
As our April York show approaches I wish to inform our TCA members that preparations for the show are proceeding smoothly at this time. In February we lost a key component of our York team when our Registrar, Nancy Tenzeras, had to leave the team due to personal health concerns. We are all hoping for a successful and speedy recovery and look forward to having Nancy and Nicholas back with us soon.
The York Train Meet is the Train Collectors Association greatest recruitment tool. The TCA National Business Office was rather busy at the October 2017 Meet. TCA has 60 new members that includes 22 Trial members and 4 JR. members. Additionally, 315 members renewed their TCA dues, 15 members reinstated their membership, and 3 Heritage Member sign ups. If you want to see the TCA membership grow - then take a guest to the York Train Meet and encourage them to join TCA to continue attending.
Getting your tickets is easy with Online Registration! If you are as enthusiastic about toy trains as we are, come see what we are all about. The April Meet Notices are mailed a few months prior to the show and will include all details plus the member, dealer, and guest registration forms.

York Meet April 2018 coming down the Tracks.
The April 2018 York Meet is just around the corner. Meet Chairman Mike Petronella has scheduled 6 operating layouts that will be setting up through the many dealer and member halls. They include:
Setting up in the White Hall
The Washington & Old Dominion S Gaugers from Warrenton, VA with their 26' x 50' layout.
Also, the RJ Winkler Train Club from Williamsville, NY, who will be operating their 11' x 21' layout.
Setting up in the Black Hall:
North Penn Modular S Gauge Train Club, from Landsdale, PA with their 24' x 34' layout.
Also, in the Black Hall is the Stillmeadow Crossing Modular Train Group from York, PA with a 28' x 50' layout.
In the Purple Hall:
The Eagle Line Railroad from Ridgely, MD with a 10' x 28' layout.
This year for the first time we have the Mohegan-Pequot Model RR Club from Preston, CT with a 14' x 24' layout.
Please stop by each of the halls and enjoy the operating layout and the clubs dedication to the York Train Show in bringing their labors of love to share with all of us.
Don't forget to say "Thank You".
Invite all your friends even if they aren't TCA members. They now have an opportunity to visit the dealer halls on Friday and/or Saturday, as we are in our second year of opening the dealer halls to the public. Of course, they can always join TCA and enjoy all the halls.
We again offered members the opportunity to pre-register for the upcoming meet. If you didn't take advantage of this convenience, please try it at the next show. A sign up table will be located across from the Registration Desk. Put that on your list of places to stop while wandering through the Silver Hall in October. The advantages for pre-registering:
- Convenience - do it at the meet and forget about it until you receive your badge in the mail.
- Cost - we pay the postage.
- Time saver - you save time as you no longer need to wait for the meet notice to arrive, then complete the form, put a self-addressed stamped envelope in with your registration form and make a trip to the post office.
- Accuracy of information - ensuring the information we have on file is correct and eliminating errors due to illegible penmanship.
Everyone should consider using this method to register for the next meet. We'll begin mailing badges out in mid-February to those members attending the meet only. Just a reminder: if you're a table holder or dealer, your badge(s) will be mailed starting the end of March 2018. If you pre-registered, you will still receive a meet notice for informational purposes only. No need to submit a registration form and if you're not sure if you pre-registered - Contact Us.
Have a great holiday season. We look forward to seeing you all again in April.

Eastern Division is the sole sponsor of the York Train Meet. It is the largest division within the Train Collectors Association with over 6,600 members. The York Train Meet has a long history dating back to 1964 when it began holding its first train meet in the Blue Hall, also known as Memorial Hall. When you hear the old timers tell how they used to secure their tables, you can't help but smile. It was a free for all and whoever managed to get to the table first laid claim to it for the entire meet. Read more...
