Now that our April York train meet has concluded I hope those of you that were able to attend the show had an enjoyable and successful experience. The southern Pennsylvania weather certainly cooperated and we had perfect weather for all three days of the show.
This April’s show marked the first time that our Dealer Halls were open for public attendance. We had a good turnout and our dealers report that the level of interest in our hobby from the public attendees was very good to see. Also the attendance from out TCA members was very encouraging as we sold out 98% of the member tables and completely sold out the dealer space in the Orange and Purple halls. If this show is any indication of the interest in our train hobby I would say that TCA is on the right track. We signed up many new members for TCA at the show and invited all to return in October to continue growing their interest in toy trains and the TCA.
Next up for TCA is the National Convention in June being held this year in Pittsburgh, PA. Our Fort Pitt Division has made fantastic plans so that anyone who attends will have multiple choices for fun and enjoyment. Stay tuned for information regarding the October York show as preliminary planning has already begun. Please encourage family and friends to attend the York show they won’t be disappointed. Especially the young children get a kick from seeing all the trains and operating layouts on display. There’s nothing like seeing a full room of operating “O” or “S” gauge trains travelling along the rails passing through well landscaped scenery. Hats off to the modular train clubs that display their handiwork at the York show. Now we have all Summer to plan and get ready for a full Fall season of train shows. Wishing everyone a safe and fun filled Summer and we’ll see you all in October at York!
